ROZ Forum, Open to all

The Rosalind Franklin Forum for Female Scientists

is a non-profit publication and website, produced by and for female scientists, open to all.

It provides global guidance from experienced researchers to empower young scientists with independent thinking and support, fostering a universal legacy for scientific endeavors

ROZ is an initiative by Professor Moni Hamolsky from UCSD & ETHZ, and Professor Paola Laurino from OIST. I am delighted to be actively involved in this project as the editor of the official webpage and as a contributor to our outreach efforts.

Breaking the Gap

International Day Of Women And Girls In Science

Encouraging young girls to pursue science requires a concerted effort
to break down stereotypes, provide supportive environments, and offer
inspiring role models.

Be the change

  • Promote Early Exposure: Introduce girls to science
from a young age through hands-on activities, science kits, and
educational toys. Encourage curiosity and exploration.

  • Supportive Family Environment: Parents and
caregivers play a crucial role. Encourage parents to support their
daughters’ interests in science, provide access to resources, and
challenge gender biases within the family.

  • Engage with Female Role Models: Highlight successful
women in science through books, media, and guest speakers at schools.
Real-life examples can be incredibly motivating.

  • Encourage Participation in STEM Programs: Encourage
girls to participate in science-related extracurricular activities,
clubs, and summer camps. These experiences can foster a love for science
